Just landed on re-minisce and thought this was beautiful:
If there was one thing you could teach people about love, what would it be?
I used to think it was “if you really love someone, you’d let her go”. Now, maybe it’s more like “don’t ever, ever let her go, never ever. Unless she really, really needs it.”
Love? Who knows what it is. Some stupid four lettered word nobody can define properly. The great unifyer between all the individual concepts of love being an overwhelming idealism. And, dammit, against all logic and common sense, I believe.
Then, fast forward a year after:
And I suspect that this is what we all seek:
Someone who sees past the skeletal flesh-and-blood frames we carry ourselves within, through to the rusty, creaky and most of all, fallible personas we hide with time and experience, and feels wonderful about it — and herself, in return.
Dammit, against all logic and common sense, I believe.
