I realized that today is May 15th with a start. I'm two days too late (hey it rhymes!) to congratulate my best friend for her graduation.
So here's the best I can do:
Do you ever look back to what's behind:
the laughs you had, the risks you took,
the friends you made, the tears you cried
And of course:
the nights you spent doing finals,
the day you blew up your kitchen,
and the smiles you put in your friends' faces
When you look back to what's behind
and suddenly felt the passage of time
brushing past you like a gentle warning
Rest assured,
you've done your best
and now you can rest
(at least for a while)
Now that you don't have to look back anymore
look ahead to what's in front of you
You will see
God is there
and you know His grace is always sufficient
You will also see
I am also there
and you know that life will never be boring

Speaking about graduation… I couldn't believe my ears when I heard about USC's graduation banquet. It out-glam-ed wedding ceremonies! 700 attendees, tuxes and dresses, a catwalk show, a professional video recording on a HUGE plasma screen… man they sure know (not) how to spend their money! (or is it just LA?) Sometimes I can't distinguish between rich people who spend their money on luxuries just for the sake of showing off, rich people who spend their money on luxuries because that's the only thing they know how to do best (therefore ignorant and foolish), and rich people who spend their money on luxuries because of peer pressure but spend even more to the poor.
Personally I don't think it necessary. Especially in the States where you don't have to worry about 'keeping faces'.
